Once upon a time, there lived an avid flower-collector who always looked out for exotic, colourful flowers so that she can put up for display when friends come over for tea. Because the forest was treacherous and full of cunning and sly animals, the flower-collector always had to keep a look out for traps and foxes which would disturb her peaceful hunt for flowers.
The flower-collector had a good friend in the forest, the lowly morning glory, who always helped and directed her to find beautiful flowers. But because the lowly morning glory was common and awful-looking, the flower-collector often took it for granted and did not think it was a flower worth her attention. There were even times when the flower-collector despised the lowly morning glory but continued befriending it.
One day, the lowly morning glory decided to bring her best friend, the spiritual sunflower, to the flower-collector. The spiritual sunflower was a magical flower which had mysterious powers to allure butterflies and bees to it. The flower-collector was so exhilarated to have such a wonderous find that she had once again, thrown the lowly morning glory out of her mind.
However, the spiritual sunflower was not any simple flower for in order to remove it from the forest, the flower-collector had to arrange for complicated rites and rituals. The flower-collector cracked her brain hard on how to find enough resources to execute these sacred procedures. Meanwhile, the lowly morning glory was still silently givng support to flower-collector. Nearly half a year had past and the flower-collector realised, no, she had no capability at all to remove the spiritual sunflower from the forest.
It was only then that the flower-collector was greatly dejected and disappointed that she could not bring the magnificent, spiritual sunflower out for admiration when her friends next came over for tea. At this point, the lowly morning glory was creeping slowly but steadily up the entry hedges of the forest, welcoming all visitors. It was only then that the flower-collector was reminded that there was, and had always been a lowly morning glory which can be a not-up-to-standard-and-liking-yet-no-other-alternative-around substitute for the spiritual sunflower.
The lowly morning glory might be inferior, but it could not allow itself to become a substitute for another flower, especially for its best friend, the spiritual sunflower.
